Robert Griego is a multi-generational native New Mexican born and raised in Albuquerque. As a first-generation college student, he was able to attend college after serving in the military through the GI Bill and achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico. Robert is an AICP Certified Planner through the American Planning Association. As a recently retired public servant, Robert has served many roles to include planning manager, affordable housing, economic development, agriculture and food policy, open space and capital planning.
Robert is committed to working to achieve social and economic justice and is currently serving on the Board and volunteering for Chaplin Joe’s Street Outreach whose mission includes meeting needs of the unhoused where they are.  Robert is currently working toward a Sustainable Technologies Certificate through Santa Fe Community College and enjoys frequent hiking excursions with his dog Cujo and spending time with his wife and two teenage sons.
