Maggie Ramirez is an urban planner interested in increasing affordable housing and making streets safer for walking and biking in Albuquerque. She teaches Environmental Planning at UNM's School of Architecture and Planning. Her research includes improving housing outcomes for formerly incarcerated individuals. Before becoming a planner, Maggie wrote scripts for public radio and worked as a foreign policy analyst and human rights accompanier in Colombia. An avid bike commuter, she was a mayor appointee to the Greater Albuquerque Recreational Trails committee. She graduated from Berkeley.
