Following a 15-year hiatus, my academic career resumed last semester with a refreshed and motivated desire to participate in the collective movement to support existing neighborhoods and cities in developing their own inimitable, equitable, accessible, and sustainable communities. My studies are focused on the intersections of Environmental Planning, Universal Design, Ecological Restoration, and Community wellbeing and sustainability.  Increasing accessibility to safe and affordable shelter is of overriding importance at each point of that intersection and is paramount to creating stable and sustainable communities here in Albuquerque.

I have watched several of the talks from prior years and have been deeply inspired by the fellowship’s mission and the innovative ideas shared. I would be grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and learn with and from a diverse group of peers, academics, and experts. This fellowship represents an opportunity to refine my work, contribute meaningfully to Albuquerque’s growth, and be part of a collective effort to create a city that reflects the values of equity, inclusion, and sustainability.
