LIVABILITY SPEAKER SERIES

Presented by Homewise

The Livability in the Land of Enchantment Speaker Series is a community education initiative launched in 2023 to explore the connections between land use, housing affordability, sustainability, and livability. Featuring expert speakers from across the country and within New Mexico, this series brings together residents, policymakers, and advocates to foster informed discussions and actionable solutions for the region’s housing challenges. Developed in collaboration with a coalition of partners, the series was held in Santa Fe in 2023 and 2024 and is being held in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe in 2025. Beyond the public speaker sessions, the program is also comprised of:

  • The Livability Fellowship Program, which trains and empowers individuals to strengthen their cities through involvement, collaboration, and advocacy.

  • The Officials Cohort, which engages officials in post-Speaker Series meetings to discuss applications to their work and their roles as decision makers.

  • The Practitioners Cohort, which engages city and county staff in follow up sessions to discuss applications to local housing and sustainability initiatives
